Welcome to the Murrow Admissions Page! Here you will find all the information you need about Edward R. Murrow. We encourage you to browse the site to find out if this school is the right one for you.

The Department of Education handles all admissions. Make sure to carefully follow the directions in the High School Directory and other information your current school gives you. Pay attention to the codes in the High School Directory so your application will go through smoothly.

If you do not go to a NYC public school and need application information or have any questions, contact the Department of Education.

  • Applications for admission to all high schools will be submitted online through your present school. Applications should be available in mid-October and are due by December 4, 2009. The Calendar for Admissions can be found here.
  • Check with your school for the dates Murrow representatives will visit. They will answer any questions you may have about our school.
  • If you want to visit Murrow, please contact our Parent Coordinator, Mrs. Rose Dasch, at (718) 718-258-9283. Space is limited, so we suggest that you and your parents make an appointment early during the admissions process.
  • Make sure that you have the correct admissions codes or your application will be in a mess! Check the High School Directory to make sure you have the correct codes. The codes for screened art, music, theatre and communications arts are different. If you register for an audition for either screened art or music, you will receive notice before your audition by mail, telling you when and where the audition will take place. Good luck
